Imagine the smallest region in Italy high in mountains with ancient traditions, world-famous wines and gourmet cheeses. Then imagine castles, lakes, and the highest peaks in Europe! Your heart beats faster in anticipation of future adventures?
Then this is definitely your place. The mountains are beautiful both in winter and summer - we’ll prove this to you.
Departure from Turin.
A visit to one of the most beautiful forts in Italy - Fort Bard, “defender of the alpine valley”, built by order of the House of Savoy. There are so many things to see - stunning mountain landscapes, a river, a dungeon, an armoury, an interesting interactive museum of the Alps. Being here is like being in a medieval fairy tale.
Lunch at a local trattoria by the specialities of this area.
We have no right to exclude from our route a mirror mountain lake, which reflects ice caps! Let’s go!
Continuing our journey, we will go to the Aosta Valley’s sausage delicacy manufacture. We will visit the famous family-owned manufacturing, where we will observe the birth of traditional Valdostan sausages and tender Arna pork, aged in alpine herbs in tubs of local chestnut and oak. After a tour, we will taste local delicacies in combination with high-mountain wines of Aosta Valley.
Settlement in the loveliest mountain agriturismo, where you will feel like visiting your relatives.
Breakfast.
We start the day with a winery in the village of Chambave, famous for its ancient winemaking traditions. Here, the famous muscat is grown and dozens of other great wines are produced. The royal tasting is waiting for you, get ready!
Fenis Castle is on our must-visit list. It is considered one of the most beautiful castles in the region.
Lunch in a fine restaurant, where the local cuisine is prepared with respect to ancient traditions, but with a modern twist.
Transfer to Aosta, the capital of the region. This city is called the "little alpine Rome". A small walking tour will whet the appetite for the forthcoming feast. Believe me, you will enter the gastronomic paradise!
We settle in an alpine house where the hosts will give you a gastronomic master class. We will learn to cook an excellent cuisine of this region, talk about traditions and drink homemade wine. What can be better? Guess, nothing, besides the dinner by self-prepared masterpieces.
Breakfast.
Dairy farms in this region are almost sacred places! We will visit one of them, it is a compulsory point on our tour. We will taste delicious cheeses from the high alpine pastures of Aosta Valley and learn a lot about local cheese traditions and the special value of Alpine cheeses.
Cheese without wine? No way! We are going to visit called the king of local wines. His winery was founded in 1800. His wines drew attention to this small wine-growing region in the mountains. Don’t worry, we won’t miss the tasting.
A traditional Valdostana lunch on the farm. After lunch, you will try a special coffee in Valdostana style, or the so-called "bowl of friendship".
What about touching the sky and admiring Mont Blanc views? We’ll make your dreams come true! An exciting adventure with the conquest of the "roof of Europe'' by new, but already legendary, Skyway Monte Bianco.
A panoramic cable car will lift us to Mont Blanc. From a circular observation deck at an altitude of 3462 m, we will enjoy the breathtaking Alpine views. Even the highest peaks of Europe seem to be within arm's reach! These indescribable moments will make you eager to stop time ... at least using the camera!
Inspired and incredibly happy we will end the tour and return to Turin.
